What to do with 250 and growing uniques a day?

    Hello,

I started to pull soon about 250 unique visits at my blog, but they come from forums where my link was previously posted and are only there to download drivers, so they rarely browse around the site, maybe its because I don't have enough content too, but thats one of the reasons why I'm writing this.

I have some adsense now, but ctr is very low, mostly because its techie audience and because they leave as soon as they download the driver.

can you guys suggest any way to use this somehow for some kind of profit, whether it would be money or other?

you could make the visitors register to download the files. This can help you build a list.

Yep, make them join your site and then you can give them updates and such on whatever else you are offering or doing. Maybe find a site that pays per impressions since your getting some visitors..

Making them register might make them go elsewhere too. It's a catch 2022.

You could have a countdown screen before downloading, with some ads showing (please visit our sponsors). I don't know iof this works, but i see phpclasses using it...then again their traffic is very high!

Actually I like your idea murph, but the thing is that I wrote the post at a blogspot blog and I'm a little limited with options :(

I'm already preparing a move to a nice .com domain with some cms(testing joomla right now) but i guess that would take a while..

If I try to make them register I'm afraid if most of them would just go away or will unsubscribe right after.

I have only a few, but very useful posts about drivers for different notebooks, but I don't have other kind of content to make my visitors look at it. Can you suggest what kind of content should I try to publish to keep the attention of 'tech' visitors at my site?

oh, does the article link directly to the download then? You might be able to do a redirect using htaccess from that exact url (download url) to a new page that has the downloading in 10secs...please wait screen...not sure if possible, but it would give you more oprions on that specific case.

if you make the subscribe part real quick and easy then it wouldn't put off most i recon...literally add email address here so we can sen you future info on similar free downloads...use ajax so no page load required.

    Just ideas...

Yeah, I like your ideas, it does make sense!

That way I can make visitors go and look around at the new site also!

    Thanks murph, rep+ added :)

btw, any suggestions about some good sites paying for page impressions, guys?

Get the visitors count to 2500 a day, then think about monetizing. 250 is not much. If you add loads of ads on your site, visitors will be gone.

Once you have traffic, you can play with affiliate marketing (tech related products).

I'm aware that 250 are not much, but the fact that I have only about 7 posts, 4 of them of good quality and only one brings the 250 uniques is very satisfactory for me. I'm always looking forward to post something of that quality, but gaining that kind of unique and quality knowledge doesn't happen every day.

Besides, people who come to download the drivers which I have posted want to download the drivers only and nothing more and they would go through everything to do that. So this is why I need a more special way to get something in return. Adsense is not working well, CTR is below 1.

I guess I need some more content to fill the gap and make visitors crawl around my site and not just download and leave. But I'm not sure what kind of content would that be? Do you have any suggestions?

Thats right, fill the site with articles and place adsense inside articles only.

I too used to had 500 uniques per day on my site, and something like 0.5 earning max per day. I removed ads, added articles and put ads again. Now my eCPM is pretty much good.

    Hope this helps.

If you're using Adsense to monetise your site, you CANNOT say "Please Visit my Sponsors"

The best bet would be to make your visitors register before allowing the download.
