How should I promote contest to Dog Webmasters?

    Hello,

I'm currently putting together a large contest for Dog webmasters. So, I guess for this contest, my target demographic is "Dog webmasters". (Not dogs that run websites....but humans that run dog websites:D)

How on earth should I go about promoting my contest to dog webmasters? I'm open for just about anything...newsletters, banners, text links, etc. I just don't know where to go to even find a group of dog webmasters.

    Any ideas?

Hmmm, puppywar.com has a cool hot or not type of feature. They get crazy amounts of hits.

As for find said "dog webmasters", do a search on stumbleupon for 'dog' or 'dog sites', etc. You'll find tons.

You could go to the Freebies section on DP and try to get people to stumble your contest page.

Also, many people have "dog blogs" that they write in behalf of or about their dog. Post there or write those webmasters.

Also, do Adwords promotions for the various dog sites.

As you probably know, write on the dog related forums and use your sig.

Do a Press Release about the contest.

Try to get general bloggers with popular blogs to mention your contest.

If you have a newsletter, start hyping the contest every week or month that you send it out.

Thanks for the info. I've been doing this sort of thing for a long time, but there were some new tips / tricks in there that I hadn't thought of.
