He's only got ~14 months left; I hope that's not enough time to do any massive damage..

This is really foolish.. have they not learned their lesson from the Iraqi sanctions?? They did a whole lot of good now... if your not familiar with them, the Iraqi sanctions started in August or 1990 were designed to make life so miserable for Iraqi people that they would end up ousting Saddam Hussein themselves... we now know that not only did this plan not work, it actually ended up leading to the deaths of 400,000 - 800,000 children alone.

The UN is rightfully scared. The Iraq sanctions killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people by starvation.

Sadly that is plenty of time mate. :(

Mr Bush (more accurately the people that control him) are going to go out with a swansong. Many people will be needlessly killed.

Having gotten away with 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq that turned out to be based on a pack of lies there is nothing anyone can do to stop the crazies from getting away with exactly what they want to.

And the sad thing is that there are even some people in this forum that will support them.

I'm just getting excited for when they declare martial law, and I come on DP to read someone explaining that martial law is necessary to make us safer.

Incorrect. saddam killed hundreds of thousands of people and circumvented the oil for food program and lined the pockets of world leaders, himself and his sons.

Looks like a lot of liberals who pretend to be conservatives to vote for a republican who is really a libertarian with a liberal foreign policy are upset that war wasn't chosen, instead of sanctions.

    Heh!

What does any of your allegations have to do with sanctions against the largest state sponsor of terrorism?

The disappointment isn't mine, clearly ;)

I'm not stopping anyone here from moving to Iran.

This cannot damage Iran in any way since no other country will follow. ( Maybe France ? ) It's not like Iranian economy depends on USA...
You cannot seriously think that Mercedes-Benz will close their factory in Iran :D

But let me tell you that US customers will still get Iranian made Mercs :D ( kidding a little here )

Sure, I seem to remember a Texas oil company involved in profiteering from it.

But you would probably rather speak about money than the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent people.

Is that why you always try to blame your country for something saddam did? To protect saddam?

What would a real conservative do? Blame America first?
