    You do realize that a lot of methods people use that work very well are usually kept private. No smart marketer would reveal their golden ticket to promoting, you just invited a thread with the same 20 responses we always see :D

    I'll still lurk it a bit to see if anything new and useful pops up.

    know your target group.

    where do they hang out? what are they trying to accomplish? what problems do they have?

    Find out what questions they have, then answer those questions on your website... THEN go to place where they hang out, and INDIRECTLY point them to your "I solved one of your problems" pages.

    There are so many ways to promote a site... Just think outside of the box, there are no rules...

    While Free is free for a reason - Normally 10x more work with only a fraction of the results - You can still find success by following the above formula -

    so you got 25 visits to your site for $2.50, that's really pretty crap actually. Unless you are making more than that from the traffic then there's no point and you could just buy traffic for about 50 times cheaper...
