I'm not sure if anyone will want to answer this question, but thought it wouldn't hurt to try. So... what techniques do you use to find adsense niches? One I use is the keyword tool at google.com/adwords, but then I pretty much have to randomly type things in to see what seems to pay well. Another idea might be to check out what is hot on eBay? Just an idea http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/whatshot.html Anyone have some tips you would like to share?
Thank you Just had an interesting idea - how about looking in a phone book of a large city and see what categories in the yellow pages have the most ads (and which categories have the largest ads). If one category is loaded with ads, perhaps this is a good niche to look into...
With my first (and only site), I went with the "boring" routine of finding my niche. I've been watching sports every day for much of my life. I found myself reading about it every day and chatting on message boards. Figured I might as well try to make some money off of it.
You can sign-up for nicheaday.com and get an idea every day. Then check how much the keywords pay in the Adwords External Tool. Or just use common sense, look around you for stuff that people need and use every day (so there's lots of demand) and use Adwords tool again to see whether that's a profitable niche.
I find the best tool to use is the google search box. Not on googles home page but in your browser. I use firefox and have a google search box in the header. what you do is just type in any one letter like "f". it will automatically fill the search box with first, all the searches you've made starting with that letter but under that will be "suggestions", that's what you want to look at. with "f" you'll find "facebook, firefox, friendster, etc etc". these are the top searched for sites. next type in a second letter like "a". Now you see the most popular search terms that start with "fa" like"family guy, fandango, etc". I then typed in "t" so that my first three letters are "fat". After "fat people, fathead" you'll see some good niche material like fate, fatigue, fatty liver, and fatima. Now click on a search term (niche) that you think will pay good and look at the ads that show and how many there are. From that info you decide if it's worth going after. The possibilities are indeed endless. I just typed in "str" for kicks and found these 3 niches, stress, strep throat and stroke. Bet any of those could pay some big adsence bucks. Knock yourself out!
How about the encyclopedia. Skim through it until you find a topic you are interested in and then create a site about it. Or, if you have interests, you don't need any external help, you just sort through your brain cells about hobbies you have, things you enjoy doing etc and BINGO!
Adpubster, unfortunately people dont think from content perspective today. Ever wondered why there are so many MFA? If at all content drive people's mind, MFA wont exist. Its all about money. Hope u get it
I actually just did a podcast on this. My biggest recommendation is just to brainstorm a list of things you personally are interested in and could see building a site around and the using keyword research tools to see if they could be profitable with Adsense. If you have a hard time coming up with ideas, you can browse through magazines at the bookstore. If something is popular enough to support a magazine month-after-month you know there's an audience!
Yea the suggestions is useful at times. I'd prefer gathering information across digg, forums, tech sites, etc... and formulating ideas and niches there.
