This is old and I think it is a hoax: http://www.rense.com/general70/microwaved.htm It's a site which says that microwaved water makes plants less healthy. by extension, we are told that microwaved food is supposed to be unhealthy. What do you think? Apparently several countries banned home microwaves at one time. I always wonder abut microwaved offd, especially when it chages the taste and texture so much.
This article on Wiki indicates that Microwave ovens are totally safe:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microwave_oven Actually these devices tend to be healthier than traditional cooking tools, because heat from the microwaves penetrates deeper in the food than the regular heat.
I always microwave my food during lunch time at the office. I was relieved to find out that microwaving food is not bad for you.
I eat those microwaveable mac and cheese for years, and yet I'm still alive. Gotta love that cheesy goodness.
Yeah, I wonder why the plants had problems though. Maybe something leeched out of the plastic when microwaved.
not stating the obvious here but, do plants feed on boiled water in their natural habitat? when we boil water to drink it is because we want to kill anything in the water that could harm us, that means also killing anything in it that could be good for us, i think the microwaves have some effect on any minerals in the water that the plants need, just like when we boil water in a kettle, the kettle collects the minerals in the bottom as scale, thats why we descale them now and then.
Nearly all of my meals are microwaved as well - so if this is unhealthy then I'm screwed. However, if it was I would have a better excuse to start cooking again I suppose.
The only thing I microwave is donuts, so that they taste fresh. I cook a lot of microwavable food in the oven, just because something tastes a little bit off when I use the microwave.
hmmm..i cook all the time but reheat in the micro..im sure its bad as well as everything else in the world
Here is what snopes.com had to say about that same topic... http://www.snopes.com/science/microwave/plants.asp
