Getting traffic from forum sig is a good way if you already spend that time on a certain forum, it's okay to put up a sig with your link. But if you spend all day long posting all over different forums, just to get that traffic, that is wrong and you are only wasting your precious time.
Forum posting do bring you traffic but the quality of traffic may not be as good as SE and PPC traffic. The key is to post in really relevant topics where your targeted audience congregate.
Can I ask how many you are getting? Now if you are getting 200 hits a day from a sig, that's at least 6k a month. Are you getting 6k hits a month from your sig? If not, then who is the one that should be laughing? I'm actually amazed at the number of people laughing at this guy because of the LOW numbers. Honestly, I would have assumed most of the people in the thread would have been saying that such traffic from signatures is BS. Apparently, 6k a month is peanuts. I'll be sure to add it to my articles on how forum sigs can really help.
i get quite a bit of traffic to my blog from DP.. since my blog is about how I make so much $$ online the traffic is well-targeted. The key is targeting the right forum for your blog/site
Tell me about it! I'm not getting "crazy traffic", YET, but DP forums is my sixth top source of traffic income and I consider that pretty awesome. The good thing is, for me it's usually all targeted traffic. Hopefully I can improve these numbers. I originally started using forums for the traffic benefits, but I've also found them great for getting help from other bloggers and selling advertising as well. Forums are 100% fantastic!

Having multiple Websites makes one a guru, or even close to one??? I went to his site. And? I was curious. I poked around for a few seconds, and then logged back out again. And??? I don't think anybody is calling him stupid. Maybe a bit naive. I don't know. However, if a person CONTINUES to think like this, and CONTINUES to post on boards, and a minimum-paid dishwasher makes more $, and works FAR fewer hours, I don't know what other word to use. Can anyone think of any other word to use? I don't know. And is it really a motivation to keep on going with that particular method if that dishwasher is making more $, and working fewer hours??? Well, I guess it is for some. More power to them, I guess. But, if that is their cup of tea, who are we to say different? All we can do is to wish them luck.
Hey, whether its a jump in 200 daily visitors or 20,000 daily visitors it provides each of us the motivation to keep working. Good job on the traffic jump. Keep working so that traffic keeps growing.

yes foruns can be good. Especially if they´re related to the site´s content that you´re promoting. Good tip for newbs, beeing as obvious as it is...
There is no arguing and hating here. Don't put something in here that doesn't exist. This is a civil thread where we simply disagree and agree with one another. If some want to do this as a method for advertising, more power to them. Others choose not to do a particular method where they work more hours and get paid less than a minimum-paid worker. Different strokes for different folks. Ain't no biggie here.
Sig links are free, and if you are posting anyway, then the traffic from them is well worth the effort.
Absolutely, but if that person is doing it for hours and hours, days and days on end for the purpose of advertising.... Washing dishes sounds better. hee But good point.
