$100 design contest

Discussion in 'Design Contests' started by pher, Oct 19, 2007.

I'm looking for some creative methods of drawing attention to my business. One of the options I'm looking at is a 4"x3" postcard that I'll hand out to customers.

The handout is double-sided and in full color. Here is a sample of the creativity I'm looking for:

Granted, I'm not wanting half naked women on the front, but hopefully, you get the point. My business is a frozen custard shop. Look at www.Eskamoes.net for more information.

The front is basically my advertisement of my current special for the week/month/whatever.

On the back needs to be my flavor calendar for the current month. I'd like to see some creativity with the design here as well.

For this particular contest, I need the front to be advertising the following:

2 hot dogs for $2. Slogan can be something like "The Coolest Dogs in Town". Other things to mention is other my other food items, such as pulled pork sandwhiches, nachos, frito pies, and soft pretzels.

On the back, I need the November calendar.
EAch week has a different flavor, put something in there for now, I haven't decided what exactly. Placeholder text would be fine. To the side of the calendar needs to be some room for my logo, directions to the store, address, and phone numbers.

Winner of the contest needs to be available for future projects as well as my specials will change and I will need additional design work done. This would be work that I'd pay for, and not inclusive of this contest.

    Good luck!

    #2 is better than #1.

Front - I'd like to incorporate a picture of a hotdog somewhere in there. If the logo is going to go on the front, then it should probably be bigger.

Back - Need the numbers on the calendar. Also need to put information on the right side of the calendar, such as my address, driving directions, etc.

Aside from that, its a good start.

That looks pretty cool. That's more the look I'm searching for.

Not too fond of the font for the hot dogs. The coolest dogs in town is a bit difficult to read when printed. Not sure if it needs to be bigger or just styled differently. But, excellent start.

Maybe this is better? I also made hot dogs' outlines thicker.

Nebuk - That looks better. However, there's still too much wasted space there.

Lassie911 - Entirely too busy on the front side. I'm not looking at putting my menu on the card, just my specials.

I am open to listing all my specials on the front....

    Monday - 2 Hot Dogs for $2
Tuesday - $2 Pulled Pork Sandwich
Wednesday - $2 Jumbo Chili Dog
Thursday - $1 Soft Baked Pretzel
    Friday - $1 Frito Pie

Nebuk - I like the idea. There would be some things that I'd want to change on the final revision, but for the most part I like the concept. I know at least one other person wanted to submit a design, so I'd like to see that concept before making a decision.

What did you have in mind for the backside?

Nice work Coolwanz. Can you put my address/phone number somewhere on the card? I also think the word 'coolest' should have emphasis, rather than 'dogs'.

    Just the texas address please.

Also add the directions to the store to say "Between Wal Mart Automotive and Waxahachie High School"

On the backside, instead of 'Eskamoes November Specials', put 'November Flavor Calendar'

Can I see some text for the flavors of the week. For example:

Week 1 - Creme' de Menthe
    Week 2 - Pistachio
    Week 3 - Strawberry
    Week 4 & 5 - Pumpkin

Maybe on the right of the calendar we can work in my store hours:
    m-th: 11 am - 10 pm
    f-sat: 11 am - 11 pm
    sun: 12 am - 10pm

    Thanky, looks really good.
