AdSonar is an amazing website: http://www.adsonar.com It has search boxes that matches your content like google and this means more money!! I would highly suggest, I really liked using it and I will soon become an advertiser...Publishers...great opportunity here!! Also, AdSonar will review your applications before they are accepted.
I just took a quick look and two things jumped out at me: 1. Higher minimum bids are required than you can get with Yahoo, Google or MSN: 2. Can't use phone numbers in ad copy They have some decent sites on board (usatoday, marthastewart, etc) but overall they have pretty small distribution network.
Makes sense on a ppc though. People that put in phone numbers on a ppc ad are usually trying to get a call instead of having to pay for a click.
If you want to nickel and dime your advertisers to death. It makes sense for the company (debatable), not for the advertiser.
With ppc ads we are talking nickels and dimes. And as a web site publisher I would not like being deprived the money for showing the ads either. If you want to show phone numbers use CPM, simple as that.
Adwords publishers can put phone numbers in the ad copy of CPC or CPM ads. Not all PPC ads are "nickels and dimes". Far from it in lot of industries. As an advertiser I believe that if I'm buying ad space from a publisher I have a right to put whatever I want there - within reason of course. A phone number is just another method of contact. I don't see how including a phone # is any different than including an e-mail address, website url or phsical address. Any of those would allow a potential customer to make contact with the company doing the advertising without clicking an ad. They make the rules though on what they will/won't allow. Just pointing out that for me their rules are a disqualifier. None of my advertising dollars for you AdSonar!
Ok, well I agree with the phone number rule, because up til now I haven't seen a single advertisement with a phone number in it Also, it would just be a waste of time because no one would call a phone number based on an ad unless they were EXTREMELY new to the internet. Also, the reason that most people like AdWords is because it matches the content on the web page and this increases the chances of click....not many PPC Engines have that option and I think it's unique. Also, the higher the bids are, the more money you get publishers!!
I have campaigns that have been running for more than year that lead me to believe otherwise. Maybe. Maybe not. Do they disclose what % they pay out?
Yeah, but when placing a phone number, you won't have much space to place your website information!! Also, I don't think they tell you what percentage they keep..
Well, I guess I could take a stab at it next month when I'm running my new batch of ads. Also, did you hear of an advertising option which is pay per call? I know I saw it somewhere but didn't take the time to look at it..
