Are blacks less intelligent than other races?

Ignorant Fools, how can anyone tell the Intelligent of someone by his/her raise?

That is not what the scientific data shows. On average, blacks have lower IQ's. This doesn't mean that all of them are stupid, however... many of them are quite brilliant and for this reason I am against discrimination.

Environment does not increase the black IQ according to many of the studies done. Blacks adopted into white families at an early age still have lower IQ's on average than adopted whites, even when you adjust for income.

What is more unbelievable is the fact that the person who made the statement was James Watson, a Nobel laureate.(or however thats spelt)

It was a silly statement from mr Watson.
Although he has possibly advanced science in the last 50 years more than any other man alive today.

It is a fine line between brilliance and madness.

 

I think it's useless even to read these type of stupid articles, which no way benifit to the society

 

I understand part of his theory, but the conclusion he came to is not based on anything that has been scientifically proven, to the best of my knowledge. The reason we have different races is due to reproductive isolation. Reproductive isolation can be the first step towards evolutionary differences within a species. We can see empirical evidence of this using just the skin color of white and black people. People whose ancestors lived in climates with lots of sunlight have darker skin, which blocks more harmful UV rays. There is no reason not to believe that brains would also develop differently in isolated groups. In other animals, such as dogs, we accept that some types of dogs are more intelligent than others.

Despite the obvious possibility that reproductive isolation and therefore genetics would play a role in intelligence, the variations seen in the human species are much more similar to each other than the variations we see in some other species, such as the aforementioned dogs. The variations in humans are so small that I don't believe there have been any tests that prove any one race is smarter than the other on average. People from all races have been able to achieve at high levels. Coming up with any test to determine the average intelligence of a race is going to be difficult, because those tests tend to be biased in the favor of those who develop the test.

just look at the sprinters in the Olympic games, that as much as anything shows a difference in race and genetics, i guess like the Dogs, some are better at retrieving, others better at running, other better are searching.

genetics also has proof that races are different, i.e. look at Sickle-cell disease it is more common in black people than white.

would anyone even bother to quote the Dr if he said that Black guys are genetically superior runners than white guys? no, but when it questions the intelligence of black guys, there's upraor lol

maybe the Dr is onto something, maybe not, but lets not all jump on the 79 year old guy, because it's fashionable to look 100% non racist when we know no-one is 100% non racist.

 

Reading many of the responses to this thread only shows that most didn't bother to read the entire article, am I right???

Read it to the end and you'll notice that no one in the scientific community is backing his claims. Further he has made such controversial claims about woman and other topics.
