I'm starting to promote http://www.wattoogle.com and I've signed up for adsense with it... how much traffic do I need before I can notice some money coming in? :) Thanks!

why do i want to use your site for googling, while i can use google instead...(and with a better layout than yours)

if you want to monetize your site...fill up your site with something usefull for your visitor...

Well, the layout is subjective ;) You like apples, others like oranges.

You don't earn from search until clients click on the ads at the top of the results page.

It looks pretty but I can't imagine how you are going to get people to use it.

And like Goodamira says, you only get paid if someone clicks on an ad AFTER using your search. Even then, I'm not sure you get paid for every ad that shows up in a search. The owner of the result has to be registered with Adwords or you get nothing (I believe).

I gave up with the Google search ages ago. I had it on some of my sites for the first three months after I registered with Adsense and never earned a single penny from it.

What I do for Google's custom search is to have a directory, and complement it with the google search function. So related ads that come up in the search results are more relevant and click-worthy.

I wouldn't try to just do a Google-lookalike because that's not going to attract anyone. And even if it is successful, expect loads of competitors.
