The fastest way to submit to directories? Which software?

I see those "500 directory manual submition for $10" (on DP and other forums also) threads and I'm interested how they do it. It would take me one week to submit to 500 directories and they probably do it in less then an hour.

So how they do it? which software they use?

What difference does it make between doing it manually and automatically with software?

I always prefer manual submission rather then automatic submission. Thats why add my all sites manually to all directories though its time consuming process but worth.

manual submission is much result oriented, submission fail ratio and spamming ratio is much more with automated dir submission s/ws.

Manual submition is a little better but takes a LOT more time. So why would I chose manual?
Thanks for links to two softwares maybe they are what I need. Are there any other alternatives (possibly free)?
