Looking for an easy way to build your portfolio?

I am looking for a new front page design for http://www.kanutervalve.com.

I am already happy with the site's design, but I am frequently told by new visitors that they have no idea what the site is about when they first visit.

Because of this, I am looking for some cool car-related entry page. It can either fit into the white space on the entry page or replace the whole entry page all together.

Of course you would be given credit on my site for the work, you could add it to your portfolio, and have it benefit you in any other way that you see fit.

Let me know if you are interested. I am open to bartering... if you want to work the deal some other way, I am more than open to suggestions. Hope to hear from you soon!!!

 

Are you asking for a splash page?

If so I would stay away from those.

I'd explain why myself, but try doing a google on 'splash pages are bad' or something to that extent.

If you mean the index page itself I can design something that would get your point across better for 10 dollars (paypal) if you like.

Splash pages are very bad for search engines, just imo.

 

The layout is not a total disaster, but i can agree that it could be better.
No offense, i like the colors and it is easy to read.
It can be a style preference on the user behalf of course, but i think many agree with this but dont have the guts to say it.
Because you answered the other guy pretty bad, not very nice to go that way with a criticism.
Pm me with a price you can pay and i will make you a new one, xhtml/css valid.

Depends on how you set them up, but it is not recommended to use a splash page.
Splash pages do some things to your google pr, it does not show the content you want to show your visitors & it also stops some pr/traffic to reach your page because most people dont want to click once more to enter your site.
