Where does the database come from, is it automatically updated?

Database has to be updated everyday.There is a script that runs everyday for about an 1 hour updating the database.

I am getting few PMs about domains that are still not available.
Domains listed in the script entered "Pending Delete Period". So it means that this domain will be deleted in during 5 days period.

Here some info I found on the internet
After the domain completes the 30 day redemption period without being renewed, it then enters a 5 day pending delete period. During this the time the registrant no longer has the ability to renew the domain name. The domain will be released to the general public and be available for registration on the sixth day at 2pm eastern.(This drop process does not hold true for exclusive backorders).Domains are an ever changing industry.

 

does the database auto update, or does the owner have to do it?

 

There is a cron job which calls the script and then updates the database every hour.

 

So the domains listed are always the "Pending Delete Period" list which can not be registered and when they become available they no longer will be in the list, is it right ?
I'm interested just wanted to make sure everything works.

 

Everything will be on the list even after they become avaliable.Nothing is getting removed.

Let me make it more clear by example:
If domain is entered "Pending Delete" status on October 15,
for example hyipworld.com http://whois.domaintools.com/hyipworld.com
It will actually be deleted from the registrar database somewhere between October 15 and October 20.
It is good idea to backorder the domain at this time because domains with PR usually getting snatched very fast by domain resellers.

So it means that the database become larger & larger because it doesn't remove anything even the registered ones ?

Also when will you announce the reserve, auction end time & bin price ?

right now I purge database manually by executing a sql query.
I will build a admin interface for the buyer of the script to purge the database if necessary.

I update the database by executing specific php page in the browser.
Once initiated, this process takes up 1-1,5 hours(there us on average 25000 domains that needs to be checked everyday.)

 

Right now there is not cron job set up.

The script is updated by executing specific php page right from the browser that updates database 100 domains per page load.then the page automatically refreshes to process another 100 domains. This process repeats itself until all domains are processed.
