Does one reputation received mean one point or is it more?

It depends on the rep power of the rep giver and I think also the rep power of the receiver.

    Col :)

    Make sence!
I once got red and I complaint about it.
    Because I want more.
    However it is not useful.
The only way to gain more green rep is to be a good forumer...

Nice post, thanks for it. But I think its against the rules to ask for us to give you rep :D even if it is rep appreciated or something of the type.

    I'm just curious...

If you leave a link in a rep comment, will the link be clickable on the receivers User CP? Or will they have to copy/paste to follow the link?

    and I'm just curious,
why anyone would leave link/url as reps ?

This thread was created before the 'rep rule' came up/introduced, and also, that rule only applies to BST.

    Spamming of course!

No, really, there are times when I rep someone for something in one thread, but want to point out something relevant that was mentioned in another thread or on another website... Easier to just leave the link in the rep comment instead of leaving a rep comment AND sending a PM.

Don't think a link in rep should be clickable. However should appear as plain text. I'll just give you a rep with a link in it. Lets see if it works.

I am accustomed to referral only. When one has a product that makes others jealous, it is so easy to make the transaction quickly and easily.

What I find fascinating is a building of reputation within the forum and number of posts, in order to build that reputation too. And for this to be a requirement to graduate to General Chat - Politics and Religion! When cyberspace reached a critical mass so akin to real social order... I must have blinked?

    Regards,

    David Merrill.

Speaking for myself I was interested in a topic over in Politics and Religion so I registered. I was having trouble getting a Reply page so I started studying the requirements and found that I must have 25 posts and no red reputation.

This is quite a new challenge to me...

I am gathering this gauntlet is to post a few more posts, without asking anybody to give me extra brownie points, so that I can get on the Politics and Religion thread area and join an interesting discussion there...

There is some wording under "Digital Point" that I wish I could make out because I feel like I am missing something here. Don't get me wrong, at this point I find my interpretation of this cyber-social climbing way beyond amusing! It is really quite fascinating.

Buffalo is very pretty. I hope that helps.

    Regards,

    David Merrill.
