WidgetBucks [aff] looks like a promising new ad medium. It's contextual but form what I've heard it is acceptable to use on a page with adsense just like the earlier Chitika ads. My first impression is that the ads are a lot more attractive and even more importantly. They are boasting $3-$6 CPM. I'm interested in how this will do on forums. I like the ads being more attractive because chitika is cool and all but their ads are ugly as hell and hard to integrate because certain parts of the ad display just aren't customizable. So this looks promising. I'm grabbing some code and testing it out right now on www.commentsville.com. On my home page I'm gonna set it to Clothing/Apparel and on the inner pages I'm gonna let it run contextual and see what comes up on a myspace site If you look on their site they have whateverlife as a network partner already so I wonder if Ashley will weigh in?
You can either pick a category that matches your site from 1 of their 13 categories, or you can use their "merchsense" function that will automatically find a category that match the content of your site. The ad is not targeted if your niche is not one of their 13 categories. But the design of the ad is quite eye catching.
Only problem seems to be the stats updating, how did Chitika work out for you guys? I have not had the chance to try them out yet.
I have been using it for a week. I made few bucks from clicks. Next week we'll be able to how much money we've earned from referrals.
Did they announce that somewhere Getty? That's cool because I'm interested in seeing that. www.widgetbucks.com might work out to be a pretty good network after all.
