Why would you want to put keywords in your site's footer? Use them in your content and make sites for users not search engines
Are market is small and therefore competative. Our keywords are searched with city association. We are in LA, My major competitor advertise LA and has optimized it. HOWEVER he is out of state. He still picks up LA sales because of free ship and no tax when shipping out of state. Therefore we get plenty of customers in our brick and mortar stores holding a print out from THIER site, only to look at an item and then go home and buy it from THEM because it is cheaper. (no tax) Thus our delima! Our site is keyword rich for the user. BUt if we don't increase our e-business in the same way, the out come will not be pretty.
1) Excessive crosslinking was used a lot during 2000 to 2002 with good success. Some russian spammers were able to get to nr. 1 in every hotel search, they probably made a million with it. What they did : cross-link every page on every site, and it worked for 2 years. Then Google came and banned everyone who did it. 2) Like someone said above, too many links from within a site will also have very little weight, they probably count as one link only.
That is why you should build a complete page for LA. Others have also said so here. Make a page for each of your major cities. Include other things on the page related to that city. In this way you page is about your product and LA. Try to get links to those pages. The anchor text for the link should say your product and the city name. (e.g. digital cameras in LA). Also, if your competitor beats you on price, you must either provide much better service or match his price, or both. /*tom*/
How do you think this is going to look to human visitors.... pretty silly, ir-relevant and amateurish. Hire a real seo, and not some joker, who's going to fill your footer with junk
this is how you do it legitly. Add a tags: section to the page similar to a blog. Tag everyone of your pages with a few related keywords to help your site know what the page is about. you can use it for search features down the road, and print it at the bottom of the page so people know how to find that page down the road.
Tom's point is good, we already have city pages, as the owner recommend where to go and what to do for visiting customers, I think we could expand this, further, they have taled about doing this for other cities they visit, they travel alot, this is where they find their goods to sell. Joer80 -TAGs - Do you mean Meta ect. this is already done, if you mean something else please respond Thanks gang
