Hello all. Just registered and just setup my new blog. Its a blog from my dogs point of view (kind of cheesy I guess, but there are a ton of dog lovers!)

I posted a few things on there but being new to this, i dont really know where to go next. I have an adsense account and a clickbank account, what would be the best way to set that up on this blog? How should i go about promoting my blog. Is there a place to get free info i can redistribute? Thanks

I wouldn't bother putting adsense on your blog until you get some traffic it can make a site look a little spamy in the beginning untill you build up a decent amount of content.

You should submit your site to blog directories aswell as free web directories to build some backlinks.

    For free content try:

    www.articlealley.com

Well, there are a few tips I would give you and one of those is the most basic: get your own domain name. While free sounds nice, having your own domain name makes it easier for people to remember you and you are able to build a brand up. Once you do that, this is what I recommend you do:

    1. Write a new post every day (or develop a frequency that makes sense). However, follow through with that frequency.
    2. Go to different dog forums and every once in a while, post a thread that links to one of your stories. That will bring more people to your blog for sure.
    3. Definitely try social bookmarking. Try and get a couple of your articles stumbled a few times and the traffic should come in fast.

I wouldn't worry so much about earning money right now because if you're a brand new blogger, chances are, you won't make much money. I wrote a blog post about when to monetize a blog, so check it out. It may answer some questions. Good luck regardless!

Best way to drive traffic at the beginning of a blog, if you dont have an advertising budget, is to post comments on similar blogs, and leave a link there.
