Some alternatives to adsense

At 7000 page views and 2000 - 2500 uniques / day to earn between 5 and 10$ /day is quite frustrating. Do you happen to know some good alternatives for a webmaster/programming website. I noticed that adsense has very few ads based on programming topics and they repeat very often. I can understand a visitor getting bored by them after visiting maybe 3-4 websites that share the same topic.

Nope..I used them as well....I was interested in something more related to my topic like hosting affiliation or some CJ affiliation I don't know... Maybe somebody tried this switch and monetized better...

yahoo blows.. I doubt that RichUser has ever used it.

My 2nd best earner behind Adsense is Kontera. It earns between 25%-100% of what Adsense does for me..

kontera made me like 100$ in almost 3 months but it's still low considering the traffic... I need something that may convert better in this area...I'll setup Oenads and run them on rotation to see which converts better within a month.

I was wondering the same thing. How does google respond to running other ad campaigns alongside theirs whether it be ppc, affiliate, whatever?

Kontera is a contextual-based advertising system (like Adsense) except they use "in text" ads - those are those little underlines that appear under certain words on your web-page and when you point your mouse at it a small advertisement pops-up.. when visitors click that popup, you get paid.. you can read more about it and see examples of how it looks IN THIS POST ..

I also agreed that Adsense the best choice. Earning lot through adsense depends upon many factors, which you have to consider all.

Randy, I am not sure whether to use Kontera on all my sites. I am using it on one site and it si making good money since CPC for that website for adsense is very low. I make only 10 cent per click with adsense. But on some site where I earn like 30+ cent/click, I am not sure to use kontera for 2 reasons -

    1. Kontera ads reduces user experience in terms of realsibility.
    2. Why should I get 6 cent per click from kontera when I can get 30 cents from adsense ?

    Any Suggestions/Views ?

    1) some people hate it, others dont mind it. I personally don't mind it, but i still only show Kontera (and most Adsense ads) to non-members of my site
    2) if you're certain that's all you're going to get then either use only adsense, or use BOTH.. 30 cents from Adsense plus 6 cents from Kontera = MORE $ for you

i guess my best advice is to give all the options a try.. if earnings arent what you expect or if you get complaints, etc, then don't use it..

I think you had good traffic. Use any ad rotator to your site. Then you can use google, kontera, any affiliate program....

You may be better off selling the ad space directly... it's worth thinking about if you have the time - it's a very niche market and you can't guarantee that all those people are using AdWords...

I've been using Clicksor for the past few weeks and it's working out pretty well so far...

Yahoo ad feeds on my sites earn about 4-5 times that of Adsense.

However it is well known in marketing circles for some time that ctr for webmasters & programmers tend to be very low.

Personally I would look at the information, products & services....or solutions for these visitors and offer it to them on every page. Maybe several ads/graphics/reviews per page. Like any high traffic site would use ( eg news.com.au ). With several offers you're bound to have something for several of these people everyday. Just a few sales a day could see you with profit of $100+ per day.

Just keep testing and, of course, don't forget to let us know how it works for you.
