How to convert html template into Wordpress theme?

Is this easy to do? I have a template i uploaded thinking it was ok to use for wordpress...however it is just that....an HTML template...how do i convert it to wordpress so i can upload it to my blog?

any thoughts/help?

you can look at the default theme for reference. that's how I started.

 

He why don't you guys share some links that explains how we can do that. If you know some source that explains it step by step, I would be grateful to you.

In few words. Youd could insert PHP TAGS into div box of your html template. There are many TAGS and Loops. Loops are very important because they help you to show blog posts. I've get the best help from wpdesigner.com

thanks everybody!...another issue i have is that i want to edit this theme http://www.briangardner.com/demos/ to look like this theme http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/category/mlb/

with some color margins between the columns and to have the clean boxed look of the modules like the aol example......is this easy to do??
