    My intuition is that there is no difference at all. If someone actually searches for a term containing "php" or "html" the file extension may get bolded, but whether that means it actually counts towards the rank score or not I'm not sure.

    PHP essentially just spits out HTML as an end result. The spiders don't read anything differently from my understanding. With that said, the actual extension makes no difference in my opinion.

    no differance at all. if you use query strings ie. index.php?=var then yes, there is a differance, otherwise, no.

    Oh yea, that is the point. I didnt meant a diff between /example.php and /example.html
    My opinion was for links like outsource.php?=link

    it has nothing to do with the ranking whether .php or .html. it all depends on the content and links inside that page.
