How to promote graphics/layouts site?

    I'm thinking of making a free graphics/layouts site but I have no clue how to promote it. I don't like the whole paid advertising thing because most sites that advertise that way look spammy. What is the best way of promoting a site like this? :)

    Submit your site to related sites, directories, and other sites that accepts links.

    In that type of website getting traffic form search engines is essential but also try to market it on myspace etc or where webdesigners are located (such as here in the right section)
