    If you have your tetanus shot just keep it clean. If your worried about it then go to the doctors not the hospital.

    Yeah if I listned correctly in biology last year, puss is the whats left over of bacteria or what ever infect you and your body has fought it off, puss is the dead bacteria I think.

    Buddy go to the hospital and first get a tetanus shot within 24 hrs after you were injured.After that consult the doctor about furthur treatment but please get the tetanus injection as soon as possible.

    Wow so many of you must run to the hospital almost monthly if you'd go for that little flesh wound.

    Maybe that's part of the reason health care costs are insane, people that should not be in the hospital rushing in for every little thing.

    BTW I also assume this was a new nail, you know most cases of nails being nasty are because they are old and rusty don't you? I have bigger wounds then that almost weekly when I lift weights, I literally split my chin open every single back day, I however do not rush to the hospital for every little boo boo.

    I believe what's really coming out of his wound is just normal drainage, many people refer to anything oozing out of a wound as "puss" though.

    And to the wounded party....

    Save yourself a few hundred dollars and take care of this yourself, it's not bad at all from the photos.

    Clean it, Neosporin it, Cover it, and if you have pain when bending or bumping it, stop by CVS and buy a handy dandy finger splint for $1.49 to protect it. Same damn thing the ER docs will do for you for about $400.00 less.
