    Hi,

Is paying for a press release worth it? I am still thinking about it, since, it takes more or less 30 dollars for a single live link in the article.

What do you think about it?

would rather depend on where the press release is submitted and how much gains you expected to make out of 30 bucks.

as also there are lot of pr releases , you might have to work hard there to create a good written copy to attract readers.
if ur really going for it ensure its all well.

You don't have to pay for effective press release distribution. It's actually much more effective if you don't pay for distribution sites, and instead invest a little bit of time into distributing it manually. Here are some tips:

It depends which press release site you're on, but if you have nothing to lose then go for it. But here are a couple of free PR sites that I know about.
    Prweb.com
    Prfree.com
    Free-press-release.com
    Ereleases.com
    Internetnewsbureau.com/inbnewsletter
    Click2newsites.com
    Inewswire.com

Apparently you haven't used them in a while then, because PRweb hasn't been free for nearly a year now. ;)

Followed the link to Jenn's article - really useful info for anyone serious about getting their message out there.

The OP asked the question 'is it worth paying for a press release'. To that I would say it depends what you're looking for. Is it worth paying for a website or a logo design? What are you likely to receive by way of quality for your $30?

You've got to consider whether you are looking to create a release that gets you proper coverage, in which case you might want to go with a professional, or whether you're just looking to get something out there with your company name on it, in which case you're probably best to have a go yourself.
