I was under the impression that blue hat seo was a joke.. grey hat is the combination of black and white.
Black hat techniques are spam like and search engines doesn't love them. You'll get penalized in Google for most of the black hat tricks you use on your site. Edit: Ooops, you were asking about Blue Hat not Black Hat...
I think "Blue Hat" is just a brand, rather than a name for an ethical approach to SEO. From what I've read on that blog, what they describe is mostly blackhat techniques. It should be compulsory reading for SE engineers.
With SEO it's either white hat or black hat. As far as grey hat, that's more akin to a security stance. -Can someone provide an example of grey hat seo? (personally I'd consider the grey hat seo stuff to just be minor black hat stuff)
It is a very clever name for a SEO blog, and he writes some intersting articles. In fact some of his posts are really great for a quick money. All are not sustainable for the long term though..
The owner of the blog describes blue hat seo as advanced seo techniques. I feel he just started it as a brand name. There is also a greenhatseo blog. But nothing like the blue hat one.
