Yes, and they are the first ones eliminated when they show that they have NO other purpose. No additional value.
Wait a minute, I thought MFA sites were illegal? Google still somehow verify peoples adsense accounts even if their sites are MFA???
If the bottomline here is that MFA stands for sites with adsense , but no content or useless content, then maybe we need a new term that means Useful content with Artfully included Adsense ads, say UAA. So does anyone have any good UAA templates to suggest...
Any MFA website will still get a high CTR with quality content. People will still see it as partially spammy.
Made For Adsense in itself is not something that I hate. It is when the site does not evolve and the owner has no intent of creating a decent site that is the problem. I'm sure there are many sites out there that were started with the intent of just having something for Adsense. But, unlike those sites started strictly for displaying high-paying keywords, the owner may have taken an interest in his topic, developed it, and now has a decent, useful site which he adds unique content to. Yes, it was MFA to begin with, but has EVOLVED into something that doesn't suck.
Thats the thing though...some of us who are still new to the web business hear that and instantly will try and build one right away. Of course I know better, but I won't say that its not tempting..
the mfa site itself is not so much the issue, because it won't rank well in the search engines. the real problem comes with using adwords to drive traffic to the site. google invented the mfa phenomenon when they lowered the adwords minimum bid, so they are just as much to blame as the pond scum who make the sites.
I just came across this classic example of MFA http://www.canadiancarinsurance.com/ I still cant figure out exactly how they are designed/coded.
a parked page that is probably using adwords to drive traffic. so it may be parked, but it's still an mfa.
mfa also means crap sites that are using adwords to drive traffic, because google has banned so many adsense arbitrage sites a couple of months ago... it's evolved. since day one, where do you think that mfa'ers have always gotten their traffic from? adwords.
Having a site where AdSense is the main income stream is absolutely cool. But the term M4A makes people think of sites that are set up in the most annoying way possible and bereft of any real value. It's not a good term to use if you are talking about making a real quality website.
