Yesterday I used the freebie section on here and put a new site up for 10 free stumbles by different domains, the result has been about 8k traffic since yesterday! Is this normal? Im not getting many clicks but still I feel the traffic is good and had about 100 return, is there any way of using this high traffic more... would people buy anything or is the traffic pretty useless? Or maybe capture a few visitors somehow? Thanks
Yes siree. That means that other people clicked thumbs up to your page as well. Sites like StumbleUpon and Digg will give you GREAT traffic... but are very very low on CTR. That's just a general rule, not a constant mind you. I love these types of websites though because you can very often get some great long-term users when you get things like this. I also recommend that you have some sort of a comment system on pages that get hit like this, that way you can get SOME sort of feedback from users on what you can do better.
It is very real... I've had one of my site stumbled before, and received over 30k hits from tumble upon. But you need to understand that stumpleupon traffic is more like pop ups. It's just plain traffic, the conversion rates are very low.
targeted traffic is what you want..so make sure you write well and soon these people will come back for me and not just coming in and leaving..
This sounds like a good plan. Anyone offering stumbleupon submission services. I don't use it personally, but with those types of results, I'd love to give it a try.
