For my category I am able to get updates in approximately 2-3 days. This is also how long it took to get listed. Some editors seem to be faster than others.
congratulation on the site then, Kalev! I have been trying to add my site for over a year now and no results, while there are at least 4 or 5 sites worse than mine in my targetted category
Your problem may be using the word "targetted". Is the category the best fit for your site or the category you want to be placed in? If they aren't the same thing then you may be waiting forever in the wrong place. If that means submitting more than once then you are your own worst enemy for a later submission overwrites an earlier one and if the editor is one of those who reviews in date submitted order you are just pushing yourself back to the bottom of the pile with each later submission.
slip of the tongue perhaps, but I guess he just meant the one he submitted to. idolw, your plight highlights the vast amount of work an editor has to do when editing a category - check existing links to see if they're still working and good enough, and then sift through mountains of junk submissions to find the rare pearls - and even those perls may need sending to a more appropriate category, so he has to hunt that category down. Many editors will also go on a little hunt of their own to see what sites they can find to enhance that category without relying on outside submissions. It's a lot of work!
Wow. I've been waiting for over a year. Lady luck is smiling on you, my friend. Quick! Run out and buy a lottery ticket!
My directory was also listed after 3-4 weeks of waiting, very fast I must say..... Read about it here: http://www.marcuswestberg.com/my-directory-got-listed-in-dmoz/
Makes me wonder why it was listed?? your page says: In total 42 active links in 256 categories. 42 links in a directory...IMO isn't a directory...yet, I wouldn't have listed that information here either. my 2 cents.
It was listed because the site was appropriate for the category - http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Inter...pen_Directory_Project/Sites_Using_ODP_Data/K/
yep...I see it does. The few links don't matter...it does use opd's data on another one of it's links. Ahhh...never mind
