If you can try and get thr URLs to be ala /hodgedup-news/ instead of
hodgedup-news.php
That way if you change the language its built on you wont need to redirect or anything of the sort - the addresses and inbound links will always remain accurate.

Its also very logical from a users point of view, ranks well and it looks good in your snippits that the search engines take..

*Edit, also as most of the pages are longer than the side navs you can place affiliate ads etc further down underneath the Adsense etc.

Put a suitable image with a border and bright colours above the AS on the right. It is not that hot a spot over there, so if you can drag the eye that direction it might help your ctr a little.

 

No you get both. I was just saying if you are running from the law and needed a place to hide. Also, I wouldn't recommend renting Weekend at Bernie's but if someone was so inclined I'd watch it.

You're a funny guy and have a funny site and I have no doubt it will stand out.

No for a compaint: The new for today and text below makes your site look unbalanced to me. I think it should have the same box/background as the latest pic/latest links.

What I really like is the captions under the pics. I have seen lots of funny picture sections on sites but I haven't seen captions yet. Keep that up, it's a good way to add content to pictures and make your site better than other picture sites.

 

Thanks. Yeah I really try to make the captions funny and make people intrigued to click on them. That's why I've done away with the thumbnails on the picture pages.

I'm still working on some tweaks on the site.

I think you are going to have to switch the colours of the categores around a bit to get a better balance and mix on the home page.

There are no doubt going to be more of a particular type of story submitted than others, for example, "funny" and "hot" will probably be submitted far more often than "animals". This will result in red being the predominant color on the home page.

a) List of categories (nice range and mix of colors)
b) Home page (lots of reds)

Not sure if this has been mentioned before (the thread has gone too long for me) but I'd definitely change the left nav links to any color other than what it is now (blue)

 

Yeah that is just an ugly experiment.

 

I made a ton of changes. I want to think everyone for the input.

Changed the tables people didn’t like

Changed the menu.

Added more color to the site.

Changed the button colors to make it more balanced.

Made the intro text easier to read.

Changed the what’s new into a paragraph instead of list

Got rid of the thumbnails.

Changed the background for all the content

Added dates to all items in the link and also in the actual content itself

Centered the breadcrumbs



So now what does everyone think?
