I suspected that, so in reality this bid of what is it? 5k could be a bit of a red herring. Let's wait and see perhaps.

 

Well since Google is going to be punishing directories that sell links, who the hell is going to want to own a "buy a link" directory.

Waste of money, too bad cause I liked the site

 

Granted, but the high bid of $5,000 is by domainpubber, a member here and also hte member that bought idk.in, so his bid is valid, can't attest to the other ones.

 

Wise move selling up, i had the foresight to get out of the whole directory game back when TLA and John Chow got slammed.

 

The "buy a link" can easily be changed to Link Advertise or simply Advertise which is what I have said all along.

Bidding Directories should be seen as a source of advertising!

 

Wasn't saying anything other than there is always the possibility of false bids if it isn't properly policed. Used to happen a lot with paypal. Good luck to the fool who does bid a stupid amount even if they are a respected member of this community. They'd still be a fool to buy something not worth anything in my eyes, but hey remember this is just my opinion, nothing more.

I was talking about the bidder who paid $5,000 for a site that doesn't even rank #1 on its own name. Go read the two last responses before mine and I hope for your sake you can follow.

While we're on the ZORG subject...will you be updating the ALS on your site? I noticed that they haven't been updated in a while. Many sites still shows 0 for all, eventhough they've bid a while back.

Sitepoint is a bitch of a place to sell a site, more than half the sites sold result in the buyer not following through. There are some serial offenders but they never get banned.
It's very hard to find if a bidder has done this before as you can't see what auctions they have made posts in or bid on.

 

I have read the reviews about sitepoint. 75% of these site also seem to provide fake traffic stats.

 

yes! GOOGLE!! google is already a huge monopolistic company, which can face MRTP cases world wide, and get banned and finish up!!

This is internet, and google is not the internet, a site which gives traffic, provides sales and conversions, will always be a success, ranking in google dosenot matters!!
