looks good, you might want to have more general categories until you start getting some posts. Then, move the threads into the relevant categories.
I don't normally like dark sites as the text can be difficult to read. However this scheme works. By using a dark shade of grey instead of black as the background means that the white text has a little less contrast which seems to be very readable on my screen.
