My Google clicks aren't registering

I have an Adwords ad up on Google, limited to a specific polygon area. My ad seems to be coming up with my keywords OK, yet in over a week I've had not one click. Actually, I'm not too worried about this because it happens sometimes in my business, the thing is though that I've clicked on my own ad and the clicks still don't register. OK, so maybe they don't register clicks from the IP I signed up from, I can understand that. Over the last few days I was looking after someones apartment and I tried clicking on my ad from their place - and 24 hours later, I still have no clicks registered.

Another wierd thing is that one time I looked at my account and it said I had 3 clicks - a couple of hours later I checked again and the balance was back down to $0.00 and no clicks.

Anyone else have wierd stuff like this happen to them with AdWords?

Could be clicks Google deemed as fraud and they were reversed.

hey, all the better for you! Just look at your logs and see if you can determine how many 'free' clicks you are getting.

Well this is mighty strange. Yesterday, 3 clicks registered on my account. Clicks also appear to be in weblog. This morning, 3 clicks taken off. Account balance back to $0.00. Thank you Google! I have no idea why you're refunding my clicks like this but I appreciate it.

    There are 3 possible reasons.
    1. Google has a sophisticated Algorithm method of checking legitimate clicks. Even though they credit if your ard are clicked, they may reverse the same even they don't find it legitimate.

    2. You are clicking from same IP address.

    3. If an ad is clciked, then the webpage which opens must remain open for a minimum of 40 seconds so that Google can register it as Legitimate click and not accidental click.

How the hell would Google know for how long the webpage stays open, unless you use google analytics on it?

    Hi!
Well don't take it bad, but I think you made mistakes when looking at your campaign statistics, didn't you? I just say this because I know advertisers often make this kind of mistake, even advanced users :) sometimes our minds can get confused, we're humans, aren't we?!
To be sure, just select from the drop down menu: "all the time" and you'll get the total of clicks you had.
