Google's 2007-Q3/Q4 PageRank (PR) Update

When really is the update?

 

It's probably in the sandbox right now, when Google is still looking for information on it.

 

Did she say WHEN it was she saw the PR0?

Quite often, webmasters do not notice right away... there were some changes to some sites in July... she may have just noticed.

When is google doin the next pagerank update...?

Does anyone know? And is this as important as many people say it is?



I can t believe i got an infraction for starting a valid thread... This one they moved it too is impossible to get any idea of whats going on.. over 300 pages ...like anyone is going to read this whole thread to get to my question.

I was only trying to get a valid response without users having to wade through hundreds of pages..

 

You and hundreds of other people start a thread to ask a question that's been answered on this forum 1000 times already. No one knows. Matt Cutts said a couple weeks ago not to expect it for a couple days, and probably not for a couple weeks. So, no one knows and everyone is waiting. Get in line.

 

they pass them out like candy here so dont worry about it. nobody really knows even if google is gonna still use the page rank system. all we know is its been 146 days and there is no update.
all anyone can do is wait, its what we been doing for these hundreds of pages, and google better hope that someone else doesnt have a better idea.
im sure many people here would be happy to see google crumble as a new player took over.

yeah i agree PR Q3 is already finished .. but this time it has a normal chance .. cant say normal change but can say it was on a very small base this time.. my site was xpacting 5pr.. but its didnt incress .. but some of my deeplink had 0 1 2 3 pr has been incressed .. so its realy lil confusion how come its incress if pr wasnt updated .. 2nd how come main page didnt incress when i was so sure abt it lolzzz

 

I disagree that PR happened. First week of Q3 I changed all my URL structure of a major site (32,000 pages). Only homepage still has PR6, rest show n/a. But if I fill out old URL in tools they do show PR. So if PR update would have happened would my 301 forwarded pages not have gained there old visible PR?

Yeah, I find that amusing as well. I think the reason people say that is because you can have a PR 0 site rank well in the SERP's so people get that impression that it's meaningless, or they are just irritated with the whole concept of the PR toolbar and are resentfull that they spend so much time waiting for the little green "bar of life" to move up a notch.

It's a factor, but it is only 1 of many is the more accurate answer.

 

Will I notice a jump in the SERPs when my PR goes up, or is PR already calculated, and it just gets exported to toolbar every few months?

 

No, yes, and yes.

Although, let me qualify that... often times, although not always, when PageRank or backlinks for the link: command are exported, a new algo gets pushed at the same time. There will usually be some shakeups in positioning at that time, but it is not due to you getting a "new" PageRank if you go up or down when that happens.

There's nothing we can do about this. Obviously, none of us knows when this PR update will happen except from Google itself. All we can do now is to continue on improving our sites and 'wait' for this update.

 

Exactly, all of us are keep on guessing. If you noticed any changes in your site then keep on improving your site. Google did not say that it is final.

 

If you ask me, there won't be any update by end october
