OK, so Zorg Links Bidding Directory is for sale - well hear what

First off, let me congratulate Mike on doing a marvellous job on Zorg. You have taken it a well deserved high level.

Now, the whole directory community is aware that Zorg is up for sale Sitepoint with a minimum bid of $10,000 and a buy now price for $50,000.

    I am believing this:
Somebody will buy Zorg, who knows, maybe even the buyers of Magx (webpronews) which is what a site like Zorg will require if Mike sells.

Somebody with some power and might behind it to take it over, possibly reskin the site, add more categories and take it to a higher level than what Mike has already done so.

Even with all the rubbish people are talking about, we only recently bid ourselves on Zorg and untold other bidding directories.

Why, because recently we have found the confidence to do so.

Good luck on the sale Mike. If only I had the money to buy it!

Thanks buddy, your support has been welcoming to me over the past few months:)

I dont think it will sell. At the end of the day, revenue and traffic aside, nobody wants to buy a site penalised in google do they? I'll let the auction run its course and continue business as usual, i have some awesome changes on the way:)

Mike, we all know what Google is does. It is best at anoying the living s**t ouot of webmasters.

Our site some time ago got deindex on google. It lost pagerank and all sorts. About 6 weeks when Google went round (and it did) our site got PR back and new pages that were created got some little PR too.

That is where the confidence come from. Why hell, we are even SERPING for the keywords BIDDING DIRECTORY on Google UK, MSN UK and Yahoo UK on the 1st and second pages.

So believe and don't let the losers try and knock you down.

Yes Mikey I personally feel that you should not sell this site, as you have really worked very hard & spent a lot on this site. But let's see how the auction goes.

Best of Luck with the sale.

Don't get me wrong, you've done a great job promoting it so far and I wish you best in the sale and in the future.

But 5 * revenue when there's no profit?

terry, there is profit, around $1000. If i hadnt crazily bidded $2000 on bigweblinks or $750 on beacon directory recently, it would be much more :)

Ah oki, no problems. Just you said all was spent back into it but cool :) And Yeah I guessed that hehe ;)

There was error in your listing for webdirectorylist bid amount, not sure if you've spotted it already.

I've said it twice now.. but good luck on sale mate, i'm sure someone will take interest regardless of Google.

    :)

    Thanks Fastian,

Whilst it's important to listen to what others are saying and believing, I have a mind of my own and can judge for myself.

I would say if taking a gamble is part of life then taking a gamble is what I do but under the circumstances I would not deem anyone bidding to buy Zorg to be a gamble but a great asset and opportunity.

The only rubbish being talked about here is that a stupidly named bidding link farm has any chance of reaching anywhere near what their asking.

Well, Bids on Zorg Links are now at $5000 and with 5 days left on the bidding auction wouldn't be surprised if Mike hits his reserve asking price at least!

I don't think for a second it will make 30k, you'd have to be nuts to buy it but its only one mans opinion. I did notice one thing on this sitepoint though, what does it use to check the legitimacy of its bids?

Nothing. I had someone BIN an old site of mine months ago and never pay.

Waste of $45, but I learned a lesson. Never accept the bid until you get the money!
