Cheapest renewals with transfers?

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by modartis, Sep 23, 2007.

I have just five domain names coming up for renewal. I'm with domainsite.com at the moment. Is it generally cheaper to transfer to a new registrar than to stick with your old one?

I see that godaddy.com has a lot of promo offers at the moment.

Are people generally shifting around for offers or staying put?

The only problem with some offers is they are for one year. If you register domain name for 5 years or more google looks at that as a better site.

Usually transfers are cheaper than renewals.

If your domains are .net you should move them to www.moniker.com, .net renewals are $5.49 ($5.00 until october 15).

Holy cowflaps! I really have screwed up. My business domain was only registered two years at a time.

What are the details of this that you know? Are they looking to see if it will still be registered in five years (looking at time to run) or if last they want to know how long you registered it for last time?

Moniker.com lol the register fee is nice but you can't do anything with your domain name on moniker with out paying extra fees that ser pass the registration fee.

    my domains are

    1 x .name
    4 x .com

I might get an extra .com depending on whether I snag a .com which is in redemption.

Currently, the one that is offering the best for domain renewal is GoDaddy. Keep all of them there, as you get to have free privacy protection for accounts having more than 5 domain registered with GoDaddy.

If you shop around you'll find that you can get 5 domains with private registration if you buy 5 domains that have top tld's

my shop has 6.95 transfers and 1.95 /year to make then private.

I also know that next month registration fees will be going up across the board on every site.
