Why Google will ban? I don't understand. Is it in your control - CTR ?
I think its a natural process. If visitors get what they want from your site, they won't be clicking on any ads. If they want to search more, I guess they would click on the ad. And the % could go from 1 to 100%. How would you control that?

    Yes, but that's boring.

    Just kidding!

Seriously, Mubin's right on -- but that's not entirely relevant.

I have sites with great content -- and I still want a killer AdSense template to monetize them. :)

Nothing wrong with putting a killer, high CTR template on a real site with real (good, unique) content.

couldn't agree more :) But I do think it will probably lead to a more detailed look into your site upon a manual review.

no, because if you got high ctr without the increased conversions to go with it, your epc would drop(aka "smart pricing")... no need for a manual review.

there are a lot of people out here who think that high ctr is the answer to everything, but the best way to do it is to design the site for high epc.

if you want high ctr, put up pages with 3 ads above the fold, and zero links on the page, then let us know what happens to your epc.

I was more meaning, however should have clarified, in terms of being pulled from the index. I have never had a site pulled from Google when I've invested in quality graphic design, so I was meaning that often pages with high CTR look shit - and thus, your site may be more likely to get pulled. Remember, what Google class as spam can be very subjective.

it s simple, if you want to put adsense on a website, then create a mfa. Who cares about charity on the web? Websites to provide good content to visitors, .... this are paid membership sites. All the lame people expect to find free quality information on the web without paying anything, this it is not going to happen as more realize that making money is much easier and more fun.
Why should i create a quality site instead of a crappy mfa? just to give back quality to my visitors? i do not care about them , i care about making money.
For me, a visitor coming, not reading anything on the website and then clicking an ad is the perfect visitor. The quality of the website reside in the ad, aka the ad should provide a service that helps the visitors , not me.

In the long run a legitimate website will make you more money than a MFA and it is a lot safer anyway. You are better off investing your time into a quality website I reckon :)

You've just stated that you don't care about anyone but yourself. :)

A lot of programmers and web site designers use online references and pages to help them with their work. For that they need quality web sites that are created by working people who care what their visitors get and surely you are not one of them. And this is just one example. If everyone was thinking like you do the whole web would be spam and useless.
