Links in BOLD better?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by andrej, Sep 21, 2007.

I wonder if links are in bold, is it better for SEO? I've heard this somewhere.

E.g. the links in my sig are in bold. If I remove the bold tags, will it be worse for SEO of my sites?

Also, does the size of the font have any importance as well?

Bolding is better for on-page SEO, I don't think it would play a part in off-page SEO (other than making the page a related backlink).

You mean this?: Let's say I have a laptops site and I join a laptops forum and put a link to my site into the forum signature. Should I make the link bold?

Honestly I have not tested that yet. I will set one up and post back if I find any noticeable difference.

I don't think the bold would make a difference but the forum being related is good.

A bold or italized text have much weighted than normal text, so it means that it plays.

it is said that "bold is better than "strong" as seo point of view but it gives more emphasis on links is also true... it will have a bit of more emphasis on the same...

OK, thank you guys for all your replies. So it is better to make the links in my sig bold.

What about the size of the font? Does this matter as well? The bigger, the better?

I don't think the size or font-weight of the links will make any difference. I guess when the Google spider comes along it would use regex to pull all <a href="link">anchor</a> from the source then do their calculations. :p

I think the sizes and font-weights are used when calculating SERPs, to find out the keywords used within the page.
