Tagsum.com Social Media and Social Networking with picture tour

We have worked long and hard, but we finally launched our beta web 2.0 application and framework. We spent the past several months designing and building a system from the ground up that is both flexible and scalable. We used mysql clustering and replication along with memcache for storing database queries in memory. We designed a flexible xml language system so we can port our site across the world in multiple languages, and we created a framework for what we think will be a series of innovative ideas to help webmasters such as yourselves promote your web sites, and information online. The bulk of our features are still under development, but here are some slides that show off our current features to give you an idea of what our site has to offer.

Thank you very much. We've worked hard, and really it isn't even a fraction of what we are shooting for yet, but it's coming together as we envisioned so I can't really ask for more

 

Yes, the software was %100 written by us from the ground up. It's very scalable and solid which is what we wanted for our framework to build off of. You will notice that a typical page loads in under a second. We cache mysql queries on the fly in physical memory so our database server is left to answer only when necessary. On average we have 400 users online right now, and server load is almost 0 at all times. We should be able to scale out and handle millions of users with the way we have things setup.

Thanks, yeah the search box is large, but we want people to make use of it .

We're getting ready to release some mods for popular blog software and forum software so you can add our submission buttons to your sites. At the same time we will be offering webmasters revenue share on our site so you can make some money for submitting popular newsworthy articles. Well my personal view of this is not another social network news site, which also look like or mostly the same as Pligg content management system. The market of social network sites is huge, but how many do we actually need? A lot of social network sites are mostly the same, focus on news focus on the same thing. I want to see tagsum.com as a niche site instead of, news and also develop quality and unique mods.

 

That's where t is headed in the long term. Right now it is our technology platform to develop the software itself. Soon comes the expansion into other countries and languages which it seems most are ignoring.

I noticed a small bug when looking at the site in safari (win and osx). See attachment for an example. Otherwise the site looks great!

 

Thank you very much for the bug report. We haven't been able to check it out on a mac yet so this is a big help .

I really think the revenue share is something that has been lacking in other social media sites. All of our content is user contributed, so why not reward the people that make the site a success?
