Not using your real name/pic = Increase Your Online Sales 10 Fold?

    If you are minority...

For example, would you buy something on the Internet from someone if you knew they were named Mohamed (Muslim) or Tyrone (black) or Rajinder (Indian)?

and if you see a picture of a ugly guy, will you feel less comfortable to buy from him?

this is not discrimination, but fact. I actually did a test and found the CTR and commission increase when i use a picture of a white milf than a picture of black woman.

    what's ur though?

Most television commercials in the UK with multiple actors seem to have at least one from the each of the major ethnic groups - if having just white people made a huge amount of difference I would imagine the agencies that produce the commercials wouldn't do this. It might be different in other parts of the world.

Lol, sounds true. Choose your pictures to suit your target demographic, not to suit yourself.

It is the same when you see a picture of a politician with his favorite dog or holding a lovely child.

People always like something beautiful and nice. There is no surprise.

It really depends on the buyer. To some it may be interesting but to others it may just be as horrible as what you've said.

Agreed with the idea of not using your own name.
But better to choose a picture depending upon your target audiance because it is more important for as a marketing person.

I would think that would be a no brainier and a part of marketing 101.

Your demographic that you are selling towards will need to be courted by what they like best.

Will you try to sell a rap CD by having a bunch of stuffy shirt, up town white guys on the cover or a thug'd out, blinged out, rugged black guy on the cover? Would you sell video games by having 90+ year old people playing the games or some kids going oh what fun, cool, and sweet! On the other hand would you sell adult diapers by putting a baby into the adult diapers and have the baby's run around the screen?

Know your demo graphic buying audience and market towards them how they want to be marketed towards.

What's a white milf? I follow the discussion but I'm confused by milf, it's an acronym I haven't seen before.

It also worked for "Kumiko Suzuki" of Cash Quests by using fake Japanese model shots. He (I'm pretty sure "she"'s a he) seems to have dropped the personality now, though.

I am extremely leary of buying from people overseas because there are so many scams that originate from outside of the US. I would simply prefer working with someone inside my own country. Therefore, yes, i'm a bit discriminatory on that.

What about variations on spelling of your real name? Like for me, Christopher? I also use my image in my avatar (about half the time)...like currently, I'm a pirate, ARRRR!

Do I fit in the minority, or is me being white exclude me from such a silly notion?

I'd rather buy from any minority over anyone with Bender in their avatar ( ;) ) and as for usernames I make mental notes on who I like and dislike, and it does not really matter what it is, unless it's like cheapphones4u as I'd generally take such a person as a spammer, and heh, generally think of them as white.

I will not make a deal with a person that calls me "dear" or "love" or "Good Sir" as soo many spam emails start off with such a line in my spambox. I've seen a few members here that use the phrases as well.

There are just too many factors into who a person will or wont deal with, and honestly, most of those things have NOTHING to do with race, creed, gender, or what have you... and as for the avatar/name issue as being a minority, I say that is little more then a load of crap. If you look here on DP with all it's members, the only minority is those that do use their real name.
