I use my MacBook as my primary computer and I still love it as much as the first day. I recently upgraded to 1.5 GB RAM and a 7200 RPM harddrive, and it's so smooth.

Mac is my way of life.

I'm using a Toshiba Satellite U205-S5044 (not sold anymore due to switch to Vista). I'm very happy with it so far (8+ months). The only problem is all the junk that comes preloaded on it. I would really appreciate a computer with nothing more than an operating system installed and maybe a disk of possibly essential components that I can choose to load. The first time I started this computer up it was already running 3 different executable files related to a game program that let's you play demos and then pay for the full version of the game. I do not need or want this running in the background on startup. In fact, I deleted everything related to that program within seconds of starting up the computer. IMO, Toshiba's are great, but they really show how much they care about their customers with all the crap they preload.

That's a bit cheeky of them to do that, considering you're paying them for it!

I've just realised, the laptop I'm getting has a 8600M 256, I thought it was 8600M GT - if that's the case, having second thoughts. :(

I bought a laptop for mobility and now I use it a lot, even though my desktop is faster, a lot better.

I still am able to type on my desktop faster than my laptop though.

I hate laptops but the quality is getting better with the core 2 duo chip. I'm running a Pentium 3 desktop and it runs fine but will need to upgrade soon.

my laptop is used strictly for browsing the internet, checking email, and posting on DP, other than that it is just a really expensive paperweight. When it comes to things i need done i always use my desktop, photoshop, video, all that other stuff i always use my desktop the laptop just can't keep up. oh btw my laptop is an IBM R52 it pretty much sucks that is why i only use it to browse
