What is my directory worth?

I recently started 3 new web directories but I believe I have taken to much on. To many submissions to go through ontop of promotion.

I want to sell one of them and I was wondering if someone could give me an approximate value.

The one I want to sell is freee-web.com.

The site is 2 weeks old. Uses Site Sift Listings. Has 175 approved links atm with 622 in the backlog (waiting to be approved denied). Has made about $20 in paid listings (sponsor and deep link). Undergone minor directory submissions. Receiving about 200 uniques a day. Custom categories w-/ sub categories :O um.... I think thats it. Will undergo a little promotion this week.

What would an approx worth be? (BTW I am not selling it yet. Will sell next week wen I can post in buy/sell/trade place. WILL NOT TAKE OFFERS NOW.)

I just want an approx price so I can work out what to do with it...

Well Not much...

A new directory with "no backlinks" is not worth much and if its only a
"link drop" with nothing else to offer articles,ect ect then even less.

Just being honest is all...

better to keep it and even work on it in the future or a little bit every week/month
certainly not worth selling for what you will get

 

Offer it for sale in BST forum.

Highest bid for your site is the worth of your site

 

Put it up for sale and see how much you get for it. Sometime it may supprise you.

Try Sedo, or other domain sellers you may get money for the domain name.

 

I would say it's probably worth reg fee plus your revenue of $20, at this point.

A better way to deal with the influx of submissions would be to add a text captcha, and/or turn it fully paid.

 

I agree with mikey, to get to the stage your at with your directory is quite easy so your unlikely to get a great deal for the directory.

This is in fact plain true.
Starting a directory these days is a 1 hours job.

You get a lot of spam, loads of visitors and the real value is near zero...

 

For a free directory, yes.

 

Sustaining any level of traffic after the initial launch is another story.

Killermule - ask yourself how much you would be willing to pay for this directory if you were a buyer and not the owner.

 

Ok thnxu guys. I guess ill promote it . I rekon buying a couple of those massive directory submissions should do.

It has captcha and due to the name I dont think its going paid anytime soon.
