Well i have a few questions regarding SEO and IPs:

    1) Do you need to have just different c class ips for each site or you also need different nameserver ips (or just the names) as well?

    2) What are things about a site's ip that are checked by search engine?

Well you question is quite different and i think i can provide you the answer: if they don't come from diferent c class ips the backlinks would either not count or count a lot less.

    Now how about my question?

I would try and group themes together on separate IPs.

if you are interlinking your sites, then they should be on their own c-class. if they aren't then they are devalued.

if you aren't going to interlink, then it won't matter

The links you put on other site .. should be from different c class ips ..(you can at least take 2 links from same c class ips ) after that they will not benefit you at all ...
Use this tool for further asistance

as far as i am concerned it hardly matters, it all boils down to the optimisation you have done, do it honest and leave it to the bots, they will bring you up

1 - No you do not. It would probably be better to have at least one static IP and to register the domain for as long as possible. This shows to Google (who has partnered with GoDaddy and others) that the domain isn't fly-by-night or likely to be spam sight.

    2 - I don't know.

Matt Cutts said on a google video video
that it really doesn't matter ... if you are going to ask , then maybe theres something fishy you are trying to pull over the SE ... if you are not bothered , most chances the SE wont also be bothered .... at least unless you have around 87 - 317  domains on the same server / Ip

The thing is that most sites have dynamic IPs on a shared server. Google can't punish domains just because of this fact.

However there was an announcement back in 2005 stating that Google would consider domain registration length as a sign of being or not being a spam site. You can read about it here.

I personally suspect that having a static IP may have a similar benefit, along with the registration length for the domain.
