Ok, so don't laugh at me - but I just lost an eyelash behind my eyeball... It was there watering up my eye one second, then i saw it slip down, and before i could do anything it had disappeared behind my eyeball! Where does it go now??? Do I need surgery... (Damn - hope not!!!) Amongst all of you webbies, there must be someone out there who has had this happen to them.... ???
lol That happened to me before. I used to wonder where it went but figured we just crap it out.
I've had a contact lens go behind my eye once. I just went to the bathroom and rubbed it just right (in combination with looking far enough in some direction) and it came back out. I don't think you'll need any kind of surgery.
An eye specialist will need to cut your eyeball out to retrieve the eyelash before it enters the brain cavity and causes death.....about 80% of people are blind after this operation.....NOT!!! Sorry kidding!!! OK here's the real deal.......you will be fine....no operations. The anatomy of the eye doesn't allow any foreign matters to go right behind the eye....as the eye is joined by muscles all around the back area....an optician went through this with me a couple of months ago when I lost a soft contact lens behind my eye. Try saline solution to wash it out....if it hasn't come out already. Try VERY GENTLY massage the eye lids and rotate the eye to try to work it around. If no luck or it irritates to much....go to an optometrist as they have the tools, viewing instruments and dyes to try to locate and remove the lash. Good luck...let us know how it goes. PS When I finally went to the optometrist 3 days later to remove my lost contact lens, it already had come out itself. Typical!
Thanks Mr Bond... aka James Bond ... aka Agent 007 You put my mind at ease. It is still feeling a bit weird, but I am sure it will probably work it's way out. Breathing has returned to normal.. lol
Just an update guys I got it out last night!!! It was a happy moment for all in the household - mainly 'cause they didn't have to listen to me complain any longer... and no, surgery wasn't necessary...
