Success is a very personal thing. Some people consider successful being financially stable, others consider being am multi-millionaire successful, and in a lot of cases money has nothing to do with it. How do you measure if you personally are successful? I'm 17 at the moment, and I'm financially succesful, as in I make more than my friends who have to work at Maccas etc, but I don't consider myself successful yet, I have a very specific goal. When I am older (around 20-21) I want to be able to wake up one morning, say to myself "I'm going to Paris", and then 24 hours later I'll be eating some snails (or 'escargo') at the top of the Eifell tower. When I have that kind of freedom to just travel when I want, and where I want, then I'll consider myself and my business successful. I'm not saying that I'll do that every day (although I will do it, cos' that'd be awesome) but just having the ability to do it is what is important.
spiritual success is much more a victory than success in a material world. remember that, because 'money doesn't buy happiness' is true. it's very possible to be a millionaire and not be successful at life.
Well thats why people have opinions. Obviously money doesn't buy happiness but you can do great things with it (save lives, buy islands, travel the world) so it can be a tool used in conjunction with hapiness. Only when money becomes the most important thing, then it becomes a problem.
I agree.. I think you're successful when you can wake up every morning and be proud of yourself and what you accomplished instead of the money that you earned.
i'm not disagreeing with that. i'm a hardcore capitalist republican who believes financial freedom is a great thing. and the ability to come from nothing (financially) and get rich is a great thing. it's just that like you said when it's point #1 that it is a problem. and diddos nora
And to 99% of the world that is how they define being successful. In your very first post you define successful as being able to afford to fly anywhere in the world at a moment's notice. Tell me, how do you plan to do this if you're happy and content at heart but don't have your own personal luxury jet with its own staff available at a moment's notice?
If you were able to spen $x amount before you ventured into a business and now if your able to spen $xxx times then consider yourself successful. Ace Tuku
I didn't say I wanted to fly somewhere at a moments notice, but it's not like it's hard to be on a plane to somewhere in the world within 24 hours. There will always be at least one available spot to some place in the world that I wouldn't mind going, unless it was like Christmas or something.
erm, well the way i define successful is if you have a lovely house, a lovely car and can live your life exactly how you want to live it without having to worry too much about money. having a bit of money behind you always helps, and you ask any businessman how he defines success, most will say by the size of your bank balance.
To me being successful is making enough to own a house, a car, support your family, and not being in any debt.
To me being successful is having a good wife,not-bad car, great online side income($1000 every month),great kids and a just above average job. Some people i know just keep working and working for money and didn't have enough time to enjoy their earnings.I think that's pretty pointless.Especially when a life is so short.
for me its finding that one thing that you look forward to everyday for me its work i really like what i do and feel a sense of accomplishment
Success to me is satisfaction... If you are satisfied with your life and your lifestyle then you are successful. Success also means having lots of choices
Success is yes a very personal thing, but others don't know your inside satisfaction. For the world looking at you success is mostly measure by money, but it can be also measured by fame or power. For me, success is being happy in my future life with my future family and I do have a goal to make a lot of money, but if you work smart I think the money will come by itself. Westoff.
financial success to me is being able to lose a million and not giving a crap, but there is so much more to success than money
Well... the OBJECTIVE measure of MATERIAL success is if you are in the top X% of your country's population in terms of income. The SUBJECTIVE measure of success is totally dependent on you.
Living in the UK, I could do that pretty easily, and be there in a few hours ;] Yeah, success to me, is having a successful business, a few million in the bank, a really nice car and a nice pad in London. I'd rather die than go through life without it ;] I'm really not the 'settle down with wife and kids' type.
Definition varies from person to person My personal definition of success is being able to live life the way i want to and have the opportunity to fully exploit my passions in life: [sports, music, entertainment, etc.] Also, the ability to take of those who I love, is a requirement if I am to be successful.
