Does this stuff actually sell?

I started promoting two different products on a tattoo site. In the last month I sold a couple hundred dollars worth and every single sale got refunded.

    Am I missing something?

The best you can do before you start to promote a product, is pay for it - I know it stupid but this will help you!
If you can see the member areal looks good, you will not get many refund with your sales!

Yeah I would move onto another product if you have hundreds of dollars in sales and they are all coming back.

Something to do with tattoos. I have to admit, I did not even examine them. I just put up some links on a tattoo site I own.

I sold a few e-books, haven't had any refunds yet.

If you don't want to spend the money you don't have to try the products yourself, but some will tell you that it's better this way because you can give more honest, personal opinions instead of promoting something you've never bought.

Clickbank now shows the refund % for each product in the marketplace. Obviously try and avoid products with high refund rates as there crappy products.

    Hello dcristo,
    clickbank doesn't show refund percentage.
'%refd:' means '% sales referred by affiliates'

Sorry buddy, yes my mistake it's % referred by affiliates. It would be good if they showed refunds though.

What products did you sell? Care to share with us so we can avoid it? I hate the disappointment that comes with refunds but luckily the assortment of items I sell only have about 5%. Even then I feel the disappointment.

I always use www.CBtrends.com and view a particluar vendor, these graphs give an indication of how many refunds the products receive.

You can calculate the refund rate on your own:

Hi, how did you promote your product? There are a few reasons for that.

    1. The product does not deliver up to what people expect from the sales letter. Ie promise unfulfilled

    2. The way you promote. If you had given them a wrong impression of how the product would work for them, then it could be a valid reason to refund.

But the most accurate way to check is to see the $/sale statistics in Clickbank. If the product sells for $40, and has a $20 commission, and you see the figure $/sale about $12, in other words, other affiliates are also getting many refunds for the product. In short, the product is not delivering what customers are looking for. You can pick up some good tips on choosing a good and profitable Clickbank product to promote as an affiliate from my free report. ;)

those calculators only help if the vendor is selling one item..
also if the price has stayed the same the whole time
also if the vendor didnt change the % affiliate payout.

    keep this is mind

cbtrends.com shows data for the previous 3 months, so if the price or affiliate % was changed prior to 3 months the data is meaningful?
