Google's 2007-Q3/Q4 PageRank (PR) Update

Good catch! I guess we can safely assume that pagerank is not dead, just delayed profoundly.

 

Yes and maybe we can all take a deep breath and chill out until then.

 

I think after this update is over even this thread will have quite a high PR

He ends the answer with "if I had to guess". Well, most of us who tried to guess, suggested somewhere in July/august, based on how the PR was updated before. He guessed differently because he knows things we don't. So probably something will happen and this is not going to be just a normal PR update, something will change.

 

I guess those trying to claim it was in progress or finished will feel just a tad foolish now.

 

Yes,but this page is going to be gone in couple of minutes and on the next page is going to be all the same like before"is PR started","any PR changes","when is going to be the next PR" etc

 

I'm getting bored of this.

 

No chance it is finished. Since the previous PR toolbar export, my daughter's PR2 photography site has added a large number of PR4 links, and some PR5 links. Some of these links are from well-established directories; others are from legitimate sites in her photography niche. A large percentage of these new links are unpaid links.

She is still showing PR2 in all the tools. There is absolutely no way an update/export has occurred and she is still PR2.

 

Awsome Mikey !! I wonder if the clock is still runnibg on Obtaing links for THIS update then??

I think it is safe to say what we saw was a canonical update, and that they will not always preceed an update by 30 days or so, as I've begun to theorize...

I think maybe they want to stretch this period so that the next update will occur after the holiday sales season... they have gotten alot of criticism over the timing of the holiday season updates in the last few years.

 

If the PR is not going to be updated for at least 2 weeks, I would presume that the snapshot date google takes will be just before this date. There wouldnt be much point updating the visible PR if it was out of date by too much. So I would think we still have time to get a few more links in time for the update. This is just my opinion though!

I am sure they will make a new one before the actual update.

 

Yeah... that might very well change. That snapshot date is starting to get old, ya know? I don't know if it's a "for sure" thing like okapy said, but it would make sense.

It's starting to get a little... you know... ripe.

I have been hearing reports google are trying to crack down on purchased links but i have been hearing that for like a year. I just think their bludging it.
