But this has been discussed many a times before. Why don't you digg the graves of such close threads before opening one of your own to be buried by some Admin/Mod ??

If the thread is not interesting or have been discussed to death before it will die by itself.

It's because it's been discussed MANY times. Also because the answer was in that thread. It becomes redundant after a while.
Just look in that area and you can see all the threads on that subject, along with that, you can find the answer to it.

I hate it when someone closes a thread without posting the reason

it will eliminate many question marks

I see you made good point in that closed thread

I cry about spam threads, if its ok for you that nice sites get spammed thats fine with me. And you obviously think its bad to discuss if one can discuss spam... tells me more about you.

I thought you was brighter than asking that question. The purpose is to discuss what kind of threads are closed down and why there may be sencorship. That is not the subject of the other thread so I cant talk about that there.

So if you manage to read slightly between the lines of my first post you will see that the post is asking what kind of censorship, if any, there is here at DP.

When a thread is closed without any reason provided it means :

-The thread was already discussed - make a search
-The thread was either irrelevant or didn't concern dp
-The thread went way off topic
-The thread was of no use anymore (no activity no new info)

Spam is just another way for webmasters to optimize their sites for search engines (black-hat SEO). :D

Everyone does stuff differently, and some just find their success through spamming I guess. DP probably won't do anything about Digg and StumbleUpon exchanges etc because it's not hurting DP or its members, but I am sure if one of those companies decided to email a complaint regarding TOS violations from DP members, moderators would be on the lookout and stop it.

Also I wouldn't claim that thread as "critical". It's just business, like almost everything that goes on here. ;)

I think stumbles and digg's should be stopped now. It is an easy way to pad your postcount.

Whenever i need to increase my postcount, i head for the freebies forum, and reply to EVERY stumble thread saying the EXACT same thing.

Please stop this madness. If all stumble threads were deleted, including the old ones, i would lose 300+ on my postcount.

That is the truth in the matter.

And the reason threads are closed when a subject has been already discussed to death is so that members can't just use it as a place to increase their own post count telling you the answers that are here if you do a search.

You posted in the suggestions/feedback forum and your suggestion was read/noted. There was no need for additional discussion so I closed the thread.
