My puppies ran away

I'm kind of sad and worried for my puppies. They're about 60 pounds each now, but I'm still worried about them.

It's real windy and it's starting to get real cold so I decided to let them in, but the back gate had blown open and they ran out. It's suppossed to freeze tonight, too.

I walked around the neighborhood and my girlfriend drove around calling them, but we couldn't find them. We'll call the Animal Shelter tomorrow.

Hey they could be chained up, could be worse. Dogs are probably happier in the backyard than inside licking feet all the time

I hope you find your poor pups. Hopefully they'll get hungry soon and remember why they love you...

They'll come back when they've had enough of exploring for the night. Better watch it when they do get back because they'll have a taste for exploration so they will be that bit trickier to keep penned in.

    Thanks guys.

I think they're not really smart enough to remember how to get back.

I'm sorry about that, stay ready at all times for their return, in case they find their way home, which wouldn't surprise me.

Please let us know how it goes!

    Thanks!

They will find their way home. Our dogs used to go missing for days but always ended up back by the front door waiting for us to let them in.

We got a 12 week old Collie pup ourselves, so I can imagine how you're feeling. But keep a positive look.

If you're out and calling they're names, remember not to say them in anger, feer or anguish - make coming back to you an attractive idea. Or make noises that would make them curious about what you're up to. Like loud eating noises.

Also if you see them, and they keep making chase. Trying running the other way, they'll think it's an excellent game. Or get their attention by singing in the high pitched "la-la-la-la-la" then fall to they ground and they'll come to help you.

They don't need to be smart, they'll simply follow their noses back to the den.

    That sucks, Hodged!

You should talk to some neighbors to let them know.
