hi We are planning to start 100 sites on the name of indian cities . We need your suggestions for the same. 1. .in or .com extension ? which is more suitable. Money does not matter. 2. What should be the content of the site, so we dont have to update regularly however we will moderate it. The raw idea was to start a directory or buy/sell platform + forum with all issues of cities Please suggest for it. We just know if we will be failed we will be able to say we once started 100 sites together The thing is that.. we will call all TV channels, News papers , Magazines and we have a nice group of reporters to cover our venture. We can take leverage on that. we are just bit confused.. what we should start ... it must be auto run.. so no need of updation .. other than ads. Offcource a .in extension would be better for your network sites although if u have any main site u should go for .com, as you said u might advertise it on large bases u should have unique content. auto-update stuffs wouldn't be that helpful here.

Well i would suggest you start some city info kinda sites,also if u add some communication stuffs like a chat room for specific cities it would be great. forums/dirs and stuffs like that rarely would work for such niche!
chat room is accepted ..but if we are going to make smart individual 100 sites.. it will take 3 years.. whats the idea is to make one site.. and start it at 100 domains with different logo... so need something which is on auto pilot. or to update 100 sites we need 300 employees. Sam
on that case u can setup a blog on that niche and get feeds from different sites. it would auto-update daily!

Presently orkut is ruling the social networking in India... So you better start a good social networking site only for indians.. You can also start sites on cricket or bollywood...
There are already established SN sites for India like Bigadda and Desimartni i don't think that would work.

i would go with a .in domain most people in india would want info, maybe an auto updating blog from feeds? directories might work, such as a bid for position directory but your going to have to do alot of work the indian market is being taken over fast cheers powell
