IPB vs VB

IPB is cheaper
but vb's got better features
better mod capacities like skins...

though i love the ipb interface...
what to buy?

 

Well, first off, IPB is not cheaper. It depends on which payment plan you are looking at. vB is 165 for the lifetime, 85 for the yearly. For only 6 months with IP.Board it is, what I believe 150.00. So thats 150 plus 25 dollar renewal every siz months after for IPB and only 85 for vB plus I think like 30 per year following. vB comes out cheaper no matter how you look at it, even the lifetime license is cheaper.

IPB is more professional, its gotten that reputation from its features, community, look, and definitely prices. But I prefer vB, not only because of price, but because I find the interface simple, fun to customize, and I've just used it more I guess.

vB also, in my opinion, has better skins . I'd go with vB, but if you have the money, or can buy the business IPB license (300 full, then 50 dollar upgrades), go for it. Find out which suits you best.

when i think forum i see the VB interface

I personally like IPB over VB because IPB seems to moving forward.

 

i think ipb is a bit faster and liter than vb

for me i have a small experience with VB and it the best
beautiful cp , Simplr , and Safe

 

Im not arguing, but Im willing to say that the "general" administrating community would completely and utterly disagree.

People go with IPB more because it is indeed safer (now, rather then post-2.0), less spam, and because the ACP is much much easier than vB, and some would argue that IPB is simpler as well, though I disagree with that part .

 

IPB boards all load slower for me... but maybe because I'm on dialup *shrug* it also can depend on the individual board and it's skin, etc. *shrug*

What i have heard is that Vb is much more seo friendly than Ipb ......... add to it the Vb seo pack now Ipb comes nowhere near.

vBulletin offers nothing on it's own in the way of SEO products, though there are a few 3rd party (like vBSEO and ZOINTS). I am unsure if IPB offers anything similar, though I'd assume there has to be something out there with all the webmasters brainwashed over how much of this works it would only make sense.

IPB sucks imo, go with vb or phpbb or smf, anything really.

you can't just say IPB is the worst forum software without using it.

i have both vbulletin and IPB (i can prove it too if you want), so I can honestly tell you there isnt much of a speed difference between the two (VB is a tab faster).
